The Town of Hampton has signed a thirty-six-month contract with its current supplier, First Point Power. Beginning with the November 2025 meter reads, the Hampton Community Power Aggregation Program, designed to meet the specific needs of the Town’s electricity ratepayers, will continue to offer the same options but at new rates:

  • The Standard product meets the New Hampshire Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard (RPS) of 25% at a rate of $0.11345 per kWh.
  • An Optional Green 33 product meets RPS plus includes an additional 33% New Hampshire Class I Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) at a rate of $0.12632 per kWh.
  • An Optional Green 100 product includes 100% New Hampshire Class I RECs at a rate of $0.14660 per kWh.

For Hampton residents and businesses who are enrolled in the Town’s standard product, the current rate of $0.09425 per kWh will expire and the new rate of $0.11345 per kWh will take effect with the November 2025 meter reads. This new rate is 4 percent lower than Unitil’s Default Service rate of $0.11777 per kWh. In its deliberation of supply options and term lengths, the Select Board emphasized the value of rate stability.

It is important to note that no action will be required by individual consumers. This change will be seen on the December 2025 bills. All accounts currently enrolled in the Program will remain with their current product offering and see the new rate and “Hampton CPA Program” printed under “Supplier Services” on Unitil monthly bills. Consumers will continue to receive one bill and send payments to Unitil.
